Position Summary

BLT is seeking an Analyst for its real estate investment/development team. The Analyst will assist in financial analysis for commercial and multifamily real estate investments across BLT’s existing portfolio and investment/development pipeline. The Analyst will assist in all aspects of asset management of existing, under-development and pre-development assets. The role is located in the Harbor Point neighborhood in Stamford, CT and the candidate should be excited about working in Stamford.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting – Prepare periodic reports summarizing asset and portfolio performance for management. Monitor performance relative to budget using weekly, monthly, quarterly, YTD and ad hoc reports. Ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Financial Modeling / Underwriting – Conduct property income analysis, market research, cash flow modeling at both the asset and joint venture (“waterfalls”) levels, review of third-party reports, and property inspections.
  • Portfolio Surveillance – Evaluate existing assets through periodic re-underwriting. Assist in expanding the asset management system to enhance portfolio management.

Specifications and Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

  • Have at least 2 years relevant professional experience in commercial real estate or investment banking.
  • Be interested in working in real estate finance and possess the ability to analyze various property types, including: office, retail, multifamily and mixed-use.
  • Be able to work effectively under strict deadlines in a team-based, capital markets focused environment.
  • Possess excellent proficiency in developing financial models in Microsoft Excel.
  • Have proficient knowledge of and experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Argus (preferred).
  • Possess great writing and communication skills and be detail-oriented.
  • Be a proactive self-starter.
