The Quality Assurance Inspector will be responsible for reporting and ensuring the repairs of all Non Conformance Reports, rejections and red tag items while dispatching workload between on-duty inspectors; they will be immersed in shop progress in an investigatory manger with little to no interruption of production. The Quality Assurance Inspector will report to and assist the Quality Control Manager for any other task assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow up on any NCR’s, red tag items and rejections for repair completion
- Record keeping of all daily NCR’s (ensuring they are processed)
- Requests will be executed with a sense of urgency and should not inhibit shop production
- Dispatching workload between on-duty quality inspectors
- Perform calibration of instruments used by the inspection department
- Proper use of the electronic tacheometer/total station
- Ensuring any total station need is coordinated by knowing the progress of each piece
- Shop Inspection to include: weld inspection, weld machine monitoring, dimensional inspection and drawing sign-offs etc…
- Adherence to safety requirements
- Any other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
- Strong computer skills (proficient in Adobe, Excel and Word)
- CWI certification a plus
- Knowledge of AWS D1.1, D1.5 and CWB W59-13
- Blueprint Reading knowledge
- Prior fitting/welding experience (preferred)
- Sense of Urgency
- Detail Oriented
- Self-Motivation/work without supervision
- Ability to use standard test equipment-temp gauge, volt meter
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform the following and sustain for varying lengths of time: stand: walk, drag, pull, push, lift, lower, climb stairs or ladders, balance, bend, twist, squat, kneel and stoop on a constant basis, and work from a ladder or stair case. Must be able to lift 10 lbs. often, 25 lbs. frequently and occasionally lift 50 lbs. Must be able to articulate hands and wrists to manipulate inspection equipment. Ability to perform work in variable climate conditions such as but not limited to, hot, cold, dusty, noisy etc.
