Central Iowa Ready-Mix is comprised of Concrete Supply (CSI) and Iowa State Ready Mix (ISRM). Conveniently located in Des Moines, IA and Omaha, NE with seven plants throughout the Des Moines and Ames, IA metro area and three plants in the Omaha, NE area. Central Iowa Ready-Mix provides the best quality ready mix concrete for the Des Moines, IA, Ames, IA, and Omaha, NE metro areas.  Our ready-mix plants are strategically located around the metro area, including two portable plants for best access to job sites.

Job Description:

Safely drive, operate, and insure the proper servicing and maintenance of assigned ready mix truck or material truck.

Requirements:

  • Clean driving record
  • Ready Mix or other driving experience utilizing a Class A or B license
  • Must have a current Class A or Class B CDL with airbrakes
  • Previous experience with physical labor similar to what a ready mix driver experiences
  • Pass:
    • A pre-employment/DOT drug screen
    • Random drug screens
    • DOT Physical
    • A Comprehensive Pre-Employment Post-Offer Assessment with WorkSTEPS
  • Accept that there are:
    • Varied starting times Monday through Saturday
    • Weekend and some evening and holiday work is required
    • Generally 60-hours per week as required by production schedules or completion deadlines
    • Positive attitude, team player that focuses on safety

 Physical Requirements:

  • Climb a ladder
  • Carry a chute weighing approximately 60 pounds
  • Shovel (5 pounds) for 3 minutes at a time
  • Tarp and un-tarp the box of a dump truck (CIRM operates a few dump trucks)
  • Enter and exit a truck
  • Chock wheels
  • Occasionally life 60 pounds
  • Postural tolerances and fine/gross motor skills
