Scope: The Project Assistant is a partner in providing responsive solutions to enhance the overall function of the Service/Light Commercial Department.  This role includes technical technology trouble-shooting, as well as provides training and support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Provide administrative support to Project Managers and Department Manager as required.
  2. Provide technical engineering information to company employees and subcontractors to ensure project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specification and design instructions.
  3. Assist in evaluation and solution of potential field problems, referring issues to Project Manager.
  4. Assist in plan and spec analysis in order to provide clear, trackable and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for construction.
  5. Research and recommend solutions to design document problems, including conflicts, interferences and errors/omissions.
  6. Participate in the continuous updating and accurate generation of as-built documents, assist with the research and preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues.
  7. Conduct quality control activities in accordance with instructions, inspection programs, using specified control measuring and testing equipment.
  8. Understand and perform document control functions in accordance with on-site policy and procedures, including tracking and creating of RFI’s, transmitting and tracking of submittals, compose agreements, and maintain project expediting list.
  9. Attend project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as required.
  10. Quote project and retrofit related work.
  11. Become well versed in all aspects of ASTEA and supporting the following areas:
  12. Technician/field functionality
  13. Quote Field deficiencies (HVAC-R and Plumbing) on daily basis.
  14. Work with Service Coordinator on Field Quote service orders for proper allocation to techs.
  15. Support the departments Standard Operating Processes (SOP’s) and ensure they are followed in all work performed.
  16. Promote safety and a safe work environment
  17. Additional duties as assigned

 

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Technical or college degree, preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills
  • Valid State Driver’s license, and able to travel to project sites.

  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of HVAC and plumbing related issues

  • Actively participate in programs and initiatives designed to enhance the overall good of the company, including sister company support as needed

  • The environmental conditions for this position include climate controlled indoor activity to inclement outdoor extremes of cold, heat, dust, wind and various forms of precipitation. Exposure to a variety of noise and equipment vibration.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in plant environment. PPE required when in the plant, yard or construction areas include:
    • Hard Hat
    • Safety Glasses / Goggles
    • Steel-toed Boots
    • Reflective Vest
    • Hearing Protection (designated areas)
