Linxx Global Solutions (Linxx) is looking for experienced instructors to fill positions as Navy Swim Tester/Lifeguard/CPR Instructors. Positions are located at NTTC Lackland AFB, Texas. Responsibilities

The Navy Swim Tester/Lifeguard/CPR Instructors will test selected Master-at-Arms (MA) students for Second Class Swimmers prior to detachment from MA Class A School at NTTC Lackland AFB, TX. This will require a swim tester and lifeguard. Additionally, when not conducting the swim test, these individuals will deliver CPR training as well as other non-weapons based training.

The Instructors will perform the following duties:

  • Conduct student pre-test administrative screening.
  • Administer the Navy Second Class Swimmer test. This testing shall include (but is not limited to):
    • Conduct all pool-side safety checks to ensure that the pool and surrounding facilities are safe to conduct the test. Ensure all safety equipment is present and in satisfactory working condition for the administration of the swim test. At a minimum, the facility must have a telephone with posted emergency numbers, and a backup method of communication.
    • Perform lifeguard duties during swim testing.
    • Grade students.
    • Completer Record of Swim Qualification
  • Coordinate with NTTC Lackland Student Administrative Staff to document post-test results of successful/unsuccessful completion of the Second Class Swim Test in Fleet Training Management and Planning System (FLTMPS) and in the member’s service record.
  • Interface with NTTC Lackland staff and/or USAF/Joint Base San Antonio Swimming Pool staff in coordinating/scheduling use of the swimming pool(s).
  • Assist the MA Class A Instructor staff in administering CPR instruction.
  • Assist in the delivery of MA Class A training in non-weapons modules.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Possess high personal standards of technical knowledge and professional competence in delivering training material.
  • Possess the ability to perform in a military environment.
  • Possess a familiarity with the organization and hierarchy of the U. S. Navy, military rank/grade structure.
  • Possess a knowledge of Navy and military terminology, and shipboard/installation environments and configurations.
  • Possess knowledge of basic and advance training techniques and of computer technology applications as they apply to instructional delivery.
  • Possess a basic understanding of Military/Civilian Security Force techniques.
  • Team player with a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Possess fitness and conditioning to support the level of instruction.
  • Capable of performing all training evolutions.
  • Capable of passing a medical screening, psychological evaluation, drug screen and background check.
  • Present a professional appearance. 

Required Qualifications (Must meet all 5!)

  • U.S. citizen
  • Must have one of the following qualifications:
    • Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) (A-012-0077) (or military service equivalent), or
    • Academic credentialing (teacher/professor), or
    • Instructor training via an academic institution. (Academic ITC requirements should contain at a minimum, these Learning Objectives: Effective communication and questioning techniques; Adult learning theory and principles; Instructional Delivery methods; Lesson delivery performance laboratory; Training environment management; Inter-personal skills; Evaluation and Feedback.
  • Must have one qualification from this list:
    • Navy NEC 9504 (Naval Aviation Water Survival Instructor), or
    • Navy NEC 9510 (Navy Swimming and Water Survival Instructor), or
    • Completion of Navy Swim Tester Course (A-012-0015)
  • Possess current certification as a lifeguard. Lifeguard certification requires one of the following:
    • Completion of one of the following courses of instruction:
      • American Red Cross Lifeguard Training; or
      • YMCA Lifeguard Training; or
      • Ellis and Associates Water Park Training
    • Possession of one of the following military qualifications:
      • Navy NEC 0170 (Navy Rescue Swimmer – Surface), or
      • Navy NEC 532X (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training (BUD/S), or
      • Navy NEC 5345 (Navy Scuba Diver), or
      • Navy NEC 5350 (Special Warfare Combatant Crewman (SWCC) (Basic), or
      • Navy NEC 5352 (Special Warfare Combatant Crewman (SWCC) (Advanced), or
      • Navy NEC 7815 (Helicopter Search and Rescue Aircrew Swimmer), or
      • Navy NEC 9504 (Naval Aviation Water Survival Instructor), or
      • Navy NEC 9510 (Navy Swimming and Water Survival Instructor), or
      • USMC MOS 0918 (Water Safety/Survival Instructor).
  • Current certification in Basic First Aid, CPR, and as a CPR Instructor.
