Job Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to grow market share through relationship-based customer contacts in the Watford City, ND construction and industrial markets. The successful candidate will work with the branch manager to assist with operational activities of the branch. Strong problem-solving and customer contact skills required. This position will assist with oversite of all operational components, including scheduling, hiring, coaching and discipline. Responsible to run and review inventory reports, investigate any discrepancies, as well as approve/process product credits. Ensures all orders are billed correctly and timely. Addresses complaints and revolves problems in accordance with defined company policy and practices.

Education / Experience:

  • Two years’ experience in operations, or relationship-based service role, including leadership scope and responsibilities.
  • Extensive construction sales and product knowledge preferred.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with an aptitude for dealing with various personalities.
  • Ability to provide clear directions to employees.
  • Microsoft Office software proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook) and typing skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with clear driving record, with ability to travel related to branch operations.

Certification, License, Registration:

  • Maintain Fork Lift Certification (Provided by Jamar).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify customer requirements and establish business relationships with customers.
  • Field incoming calls, process orders, work with City Desk walk-in traffic.
  • Assists in developing business strategies to drive sales and increase business efficacies.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Inventory control of materials purchased by running reports to investigate discrepancies.
  • Track upcoming projects and provide competitive quotations as required.
  • Address customer complaints and solve problems at the branch level.
  • Assists with oversight of branch billing and collection.
  • Approves and processes credit memos.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work. Schedules staff.
  • Assists in the management of staff, including coaching and disciplining as needed.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing the responsibilities listed above, with a team first attitude.
  • Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Supports Warehouse team as needed, including material management and delivery.
