POSITION SUMMARY
The apprentice reports to the site superintendent, project manager, and/or operations manager. The apprentice supports the goals and action plans for the project and/or project team. They will participate in project planning meetings with the project team and coordinates work with the different trades. They will assist in managing and monitoring quality control and ensuring safety on the project. The apprentice will assist in managing/coordinating material quantities and deliveries, and they will verify that tools/equipment are available to the appropriate trades.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
SAFETY
• The apprentice will monitor and help maintain a safe job site by ensuring the implementation and proper administration of our Health and Safety Program. This will include that all persons abide to our PPE specifications, maintain a clean work site, and maintain all safety/OSHA documentation.

PROJECT START-UP and SCHEDULING
• The apprentice will assist the operations team in the project start-up process.
• The apprentice will assist with the various components of project schedule, as well as, using scheduling software to create project schedules.

COMMUNICATION
• The apprentice will coordinate and communicate with site superintendent, on a daily basis, to communicate various aspects of the project.
• The apprentice will assist on various reports set forth in the Carroll Daniel Policy and Procedures manual. Reports include, but are not limited to, daily reports, pre-task plans, safety inspection reports, and rainfall/erosion monitoring reports.

MISCELLANEOUS
• The apprentice will perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
Apprentice Specific
• Must complete 4000 hours of on the job training in conjunction with Lanier Technical College’s certification requirements, as well as, participation in Carroll Daniel Apprentice Academy curriculum
• Must accept supervision and constructive criticism
• Must possess personal leadership qualities
• Must have problem solving abilities

WORKING CONDITIONS
• The majority of work completed on job sites is in an office trailer or in an existing structure. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, when employees are outside of the office trailer or structure, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies and as required for weather conditions.
• The project team and/or team member may need to move to other geographic locations for projected work, if necessary.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Must be 17 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must be accepted into Lanier Technical College
• Acts in a manner of integrity that demonstrates support for the company values and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
• Must have some relatable construction field experience
