Job Summary:  The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall operation of warehouse at the Branch level.  Supports team of Warehouse Associates and Drivers, customer delivery schedule, routes and planning, inbound and outbound freight and logistics to ensure optimum efficiencies and services expectations are considered. Responsible for general fleet maintenance and supports inventory management functions. Offers innovative solutions and customer service to internal team members and external customers. Works closely with Branch Supervisor and partners with ASDCO leaders as it relates to overall business objectives.

 

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Five years of Warehouse, fleet, operations, logistics, or related management scope and operational responsibilities.  
  • Proven skill and effectiveness as a leader, with the ability to define and communicate objectives, delegate and prioritize assignments, and accomplish desired results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers, vendors and other employees
  • Proficient with computer software including Microsoft Office and customized tool and fleet systems.   
  • Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Achieve and maintain forklift operator certification and training.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide the ASDCO customer with a premier customer experience by keeping an organized, clean warehouse/yard environment.
  • Supervise the warehouse staff in activities related to pulling and loading customer orders ensuring safety, accuracy and efficiency. Ensure all warehouse personnel wear PPE according to Jamar Safety Standards and jobsite requirements
  • Maintain and record employee time cards and any necessary daily paperwork related to warehouse employees.
  • Create, implement, and execute warehouse SOP to train new and existing, ASDCO warehouse personnel, on all warehouse shipping, receiving and customer service activity.
  • Responsible for warehouse inventory ensuring accuracy in both incoming and outgoing freight transactions.
  • Supervise and schedule delivery and LTL trucks and create BOL’s.
  • Ensure organized and accurate paper flow on all inbound and out bound freight activity.
  • Responsible for scheduling maintenance and supervising safe operation of all ASDCO warehouse related equipment.
  • Record any accident reports and create a safe working environment by removing safety hazards or in both the yard and warehouse. Maintains DOT certification and ensures compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
  • Tracks and evaluates operating results and performance against objectives. Ensure alignment within budget targets, tracks and reports any business-related variances
  • Perform special assignments as assigned

  • Strong customer service, negotiation, organization and planning skills, including dealing with key stake holders and work in a team setting.
  • Knowledge of OHSA and DOT regulations.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced setting with multiple requests while maintaining a positive demeanor.
  • Strong problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in plant environment. PPE required when in the plant, yard or construction areas include:
    • Hard Hat
    • Safety Glasses / Goggles
    • Steel-toed Boots
    • Reflective Vest
    • Hearing Protection (designated areas)

    • Gloves
