Strategic Analysis, Inc. seeks an energetic, highly organized, and motivated team player to provide strategic planning, oversight, and execution support for the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Development Office within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)).  Programs include pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade (PK-12) initiatives, undergraduate and graduate scholarships for service, For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics, and other STEM efforts.  The position requires a strict attention to detail and strong communication skills, both written and verbal; the ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities; and a creative mindset.

Job Description

  • Develop programmatic and technical material required for position papers, reports, briefings, testimony, and Congressional inquiries, including aiding in the development of correspondence and overview briefings on the DoD STEM Education and Outreach portfolio.
  • Conduct independent research and analysis on existing and proposed federal and departmental policy issuances and develop recommendations based on findings.
  • Support the coordination of STEM policy development initiatives.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of local, regional, and national agency events designed to inspire students and teachers to pursue, develop, and retain careers in STEM education.
  • Organize and support STEM Committees, Working Groups, and other strategic communications efforts that promote intradepartmental collaboration and inter-agency cooperation.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university required. Graduate degree preferred. A degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics is preferred.
  • Degree requirement waived in lieu of significant recent and relevant work experience: minimum of five (5) years’ active duty military or minimum of ten (10) years’ experience.
  • Ten (10) years’ recent and relevant experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Demonstrated progressive responsibility in project management positions supporting the DoD science and technology enterprise.
  • Experience in evidence-based program management. 
  • Excellent communication skills, briefings, and meeting moderation
  • Ability to work independently with both junior and senior staff in a distributed environment, while maintaining a strong commitment to deliverable schedule.
  • Demonstrated success in the conception and execution of new projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to include Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to work with a large team.
