SUMMARY

JOB DESCRIPTION

Dylan’s Candy Bar associates love the brand, love our products, and are passionate about bringing those products to life for our customers. Café Associates work as members of the store team to create a positive customer and brand experience. Providing customers an optimal shopping experience is our highest priority. We work as a team, and team members are expected to perform a variety of cross-functional tasks as assigned by the Manager On Duty or as needed to ensure overall customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Ensure the quality of the Café products served meet the standards of Dylan’s Candy Bar. This includes standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies and procedures
• Consistently provides an exceptional client experience
• Influence customer buying decisions, by communicating information in a friendly and fun manner
• Deliver results to contribute to the café and store’s success
• Café Associates must be aware of and accountable to store and individual goals and results
• Prepare food and beverages served in the café to meet both company standards
• Maintains store standards per visual presentation direction to enhance customer shopping experience
• Clean and maintain the kitchen and café area in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations
• Contributes to a positive work environment by consistently treating all Dylan’s Candy Bar employees and customers with respect
• Demonstrates a high degree of integrity and enforces and upholds all company policies (ie. Human Resources, Loss Prevention, Customer Service) and communicates violations to the leadership team or the HR Hotline
• Work well in a fast paced environment with ability to adapt to ever changing customer volume levels with a sense of urgency
• Consistently and accurately use daily and nightly prep sheets, cleanliness and station checklists
• Ability to clean equipment as assigned, thoroughly and in a timely manner, in accordance with sanitation guidelines
• Ability to effectively make recommendations and sell Dylan’s Candy Bar Café products
• Ensure that customers are satisfied with their experience
• Liaise with management and Cafe supervisors with any service issues encountered to ensure excellent customer service is met
• Follow all company policies, procedures and Department of Health (DOH) guideline
• Contribute to a positive work environment by consistently treating all Dylan’s Candy employees and customers with respect

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
• Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work a fully flexible retail schedule including nights, weekends and holidays is a MUST
• Must have excellent communication, influencing and selling skills
• Must be friendly, outgoing and confident with an ability to easily build rapport when meeting new people
• Must be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Dylan’s Candy Bar products
• Ability to handle cash with accuracy and efficiency
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines as assigned with minimal supervision
• Can assess customer needs and enjoy helping people
• Enjoy being part of a team environment
• Must have previous restaurant/café and/or retail service experience in the service industry with proven results(1 year minimum)
• Merchandising knowledge of visual standards and techniques preferred
• Knowledge of Health Laws and Regulations
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• Other duties as assigned
