JOB DESCRIPTION

The Merchandising Supervisor loves the brand, loves our products, and is passionate about bringing those products to life for our customers. Supervisors support the senior management in the building on a daily basis to ensure all associate-level employees are doing what they need to be doing at all times and have all of the necessary communication to properly perform in their roles. Merchandising Supervisors are directly responsible for product and signage placement as well as maintaining an overall visually appropriate sales floor in order to drive sales and product sell-through. Supervisors work as leaders of the store team to create a positive customer, employee, and brand experience. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assign tasks to all associates in their zones and ensure they are completed
  • Day-to-day supervision, staffing, and zoning of the workforce with particular emphasis on sales, replenishment, and product placement
  • Ensures company standards are met for store and associate appearance at all times
  • Ensure a team based work environment
  • Observe the sales floor to ensure a fully clean, stocked, and presentable store
  • Perform all opening and closing procedures
  • Manage staff breaks as needed
  • Timely and appropriate follow-up communication on tasks, product issues, customer feedback, and business opportunities as needed
  • Model and train all associates on the four service skills as laid out in customer service training
  • Oversee compliance of all associates with established company policies and standards
  • Exercise judgment and discretion in collaboration with management on the day-to-day operations of the store, employee concerns, promotions, and trends
  • Train and develop employees on the Merchandising Manual and visual standards in order to build bench strength within the associate and lead population
  • Ensure the store has the correct merchandising vessels and hardware to execute displays
  • Participate in planning floor moves and mapping the sales floor for different seasons, and executing floor moves based on those plans
  • Reacting to in-season sell through and replenishment opportunities, partnering with senior management or corporate merchandising team as needed
  • Ensure all products in the store are priced and properly scanning at all times
  • Communicating any product liabilities and expiration issues in a timely fashion
  • Ensuring all graphics and other interactive visual elements of the store are in good condition and functioning properly
  • Partnering with inventory teams to minimize back-stock and maximize replenishment on the sales floor
  • Any other tasks as assigned by senior management

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have excellent communication and influencing skills, and attention to detail
  • Must have an ability and flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, store openings and closings, and occasional overnights to meet the needs of the business
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30lbs, use a ladder, and be on your feet for long periods of time
  • Must be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Dylan’s Candy Bar products
  • Enjoy being part of a team environment
  • Preferably have previous merchandising and/or customer service experience in the service industry with proven results (1 year minimum)
  • Ability to supervise store teams effectively
  • Ability to maintain a fair, consistent set of standards as they apply to workforce
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and follow-through skills
  • Must possess a high threshold for ambiguity and change
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to adapt to ever changing customer volume levels with a sense of urgency
