Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Duct Purchasing Specialist to join our team!

This person will be responsible for company-wide duct fabrication purchasing. This includes coordination with the shop for selection and routing of field orders for internal fabrication and overall proposal and procurement process for all externally fabricated ductwork.

Essential Tasks:

• Responsible for ductwork order processing and procurement including coordination with shop, request for proposals from vendors, pricing evaluation, delivery dates, delivery requirements and taking feedback from the field
• Analyze supplier responses and quotes, request revisions to quotes as required
• Work closely with foremen throughout the order process
• Issue purchase orders, place orders with suppliers, track/expedite orders, take feedback from the field and resolve issue with vendors
• Develop and support strong ethical relationships with vendors to ensure profitable purchases
• Cross train to support other purchasing processes
• Continuous purchasing process improvement
• Perform additional assignments as directed

Desired Qualifications: 

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under hurried and pressured conditions, maintaining flexibility as conditions change
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize effectively to reflect these changes
• An excellent communicator who understands both internal and external customer service
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with field personnel
• Demonstrated experience in meeting deadlines through multitasking, prioritization, organization, and discipline
• A person of unquestionable integrity and strong discipline to follow and holds others accountable to the order process 
• Experienced with data analysis and desire to use data to assess key performance metrics and drive change
• Intermediate to advanced skillset with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Construction industry experience a plus - preferably in mechanical contracting (Plumbing, HVAC) or similar
• HVAC design experience a plus
