Primary Duties

  • Support and engage the culture of Abbott in alignment with core values and mission statement.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director in the development, implementation, and communication of policies, procedures, programs, and activities to increase productivity and employee satisfaction.
  • Responsible for day to day management of team including performance and training.
  • Manage intake of requests to Human Resources Department and allocate workflow appropriately to team members.
  • Partner with leaders at multiple levels and their teams to develop and execute HR strategies.
  • Manage multiple HR programs including employee benefits, wellness, recruiting, performance and safety.
  • Act as liaison between employees and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices and regulations.
  • Provide feedback to management on employee related issues and/or concerns.
  • Represent the company in community activities and promote a positive company representation.
  • Oversee the communication and rollout of HR programs and new initiatives.
  • Partner with payroll to make sure that employee paychecks are managed correctly, and that policies and protocols are adhered to.

Skills

  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, and personnel information systems.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Ability to manage a team of human resources coordinators and assistants.
  • Communicate effectively in person or in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Ability to think outside the box when solving complicated problems and facilitate solutions.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
  • Knowledge of multi state workers compensation regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business or human resources
  • 5+ years’ experience in human resources administration
  • PHR or SHRM CP certification
  • Experience managing a team
  • Experience with remote workers preferred
