JOB DESCRIPTION:

HR Manager supports Home Office and retail store populations. Responsibilities: Manage Human Resources function including employee relations matters, recruiting, talent management, employee engagement, learning and development, succession planning, and special projects assigned during the year, ensuring HR is aligned with business initiatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Lead Home Office recruiting initiatives, including interviewing, screening and reviewing resumes
  • Oversee retail store talent acquisition process and sourcing strategies
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws and practices
  • Coach business partners on ongoing performance management situations, which includes effective communication and management skills to maximize employee performance
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance in support of employee relations issues, corrective actions and performance improvement process, policy updates and Company communications, with appropriate follow up to ensure matters are successfully closed
  • Lead and conduct complex internal investigations of employee relations concerns, including complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other work-related issues
  • Participate in special projects related to HR initiatives and where designated, operate as project lead
  • Facilitate annual performance appraisal process
  • Coordinates communication of Worker’s Comp and applicable GL claims with appropriate contacts
  • Identify and develop training programs 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree required, preferably in HR
  • 5 years of experience in Employee Relations (ER), labor relations, or labor/employment law, including experience directly managing complex/sensitive workplace investigations or relevant HR experience, preferably as a manager, generalist 
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations and the ability to appropriately identify employment/labor law issues
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively influence business partners at all levels
  • Demonstrated expertise with the Microsoft suite
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent planning, time management, collaboration and decision making skills
  • Outstanding relationship-building skills; true team player. Consistently demonstrate a positive and collaborative approach – comfortable working with various functional groups across the organization
  • Flexible style, comfortable in a fast paced environment, willing to prioritize work for self and team, while maintaining drive to business goals and timelines
  • Ability to tailor communication, flexing up to senior-most leadership levels, among cross functional peers, and to functional individual contributors. Ability to present data persuasively
