Job Summary: Oversight of the process of executing legal documentation by the business to ensure that documents are within the acceptable bounds of the law and in accordance with the processes determined by Jamar. Negotiates contracts and subcontracts, processes and tracks agreements, amendments and or contractual correspondence for the company. Monitors the performance and efficiency of the contracts process. 

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in Business Administration, or Paralegal certification, or at least 5 years’ experience as a Paralegal
  • Minimum four years’ experience in contract administration or a related field
  • Knowledge and understanding of the construction contract and bidding process, standards and protocol, including the legal requirements involved with construction contract terms, concepts, risk mitigation techniques, compliance and standards
  • Ability to analyze, make recommendations and decisions with an attention to detail and ability to notice/correct errors
  • Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Suite products, ability to learn SharePoint

  • Leads the implementation of the Company Contract Policies and the administration of contracting processes.
  • Leads the Contract Review for Risk Mitigation and DBE adherence.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners on contract details; work with legal, HR and all relevant involved teams to ensure contracts are in compliance.
  • Collaborates with Project Leaders in the issuance of sub-contracts.
  • Ensure that contracts are viable and meet company standards.
  • Revise Policies as updates become available; makes recommendations for revisions as indicated based on efficiency and productivity standards.
  • Create and manage contracts strategy, including tracking and managing contracts; responsible for maintaining all documents and records pertaining to the contract process.
  • Present and explain contract conditions and details to business partners, employees and management; confirm contract terms are understood.
  • Generate reports on the status of existing agreements; keeps management updated on status of all pending contracts.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions in conjunction with Department Managers.
  • Create standardized language and templates for new contracts.
  • Analyze and report on specific risks associated with contracts.

  • Primarily a stationary position for a considerable portion of the day (sitting and/or standing). The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Must be able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
  • Travel to project sites, or other APi Group company locations as needed.
  • The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in plant environment.
  • PPE required when in the plant, yard or construction areas include:
    • Hard Hat
    • Safety Glasses / Goggles
    • Steel-toed Boots
    • High Visibility Vest
    • Hearing Protection (designated areas)
    • Gloves
    • Personal Fall Arrest Harness
