JOB DESCRIPTION

Dylan’s Candy Bar associates love the brand, love our products, and are passionate about bringing those products to life for our customers. Greeters work as members of the store team to create a positive customer and brand experience. Providing customers an optimal shopping experience is our highest priority. We work as a team, and team members are expected to perform a variety of cross-functional tasks as assigned by the Manager On Duty or as needed to ensure overall customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assign tasks to all associates on station and ensure they are completed.
  • Day-to-day supervision, staffing and scheduling of the workforce with particular emphasis on sales
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze sales goals on a daily basis, as well as setting obtainable, personalized sales goals for the team
  • Train new hires, and issue on the spot training as needed to ensure full potential is reached
  • Ensure promotions and price changes are accurate and merchandised properly
  • Ensure all staff are in correct dress code
  • Observe the sales floor and make sure the business is running effectively and smoothly
  • Ensure a team based work environment
  • Follow all money handling procedures and issue register audits
  • Handling all returns and exchange requests made by customers
  • Manage sales team breaks
  • Recovers and replenishes the store, executes merchandising directives and maintains visual merchandising presentations
  • Model the four service skills laid out in customer service training
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by consistently treating all Dylan’s Candy employees and customers with respect
  • Oversee compliance of all associates with established company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of company funds and assets, personnel practices, security, sales and record keeping procedures
  • Liaise with management and Sales Supervisors with any service issues encountered to ensure excellent customer service is met
  • Exercise judgment and discretion alone, and in conjunction with, Management, in the day-to-day operations of the store
  • Motivate staff to create a fun, energetic and productive environment
  • Collaborate with fellow managers and corporate members on product, promotions, events, contests, etc.
  • Build the bench strength within the associate population
  • Maintain personal department or area of responsibility as laid out by management
  • Perform other tasks assigned from time to time

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have excellent communication, influencing and selling skills
  • Must be friendly, outgoing and confident with an ability to easily build rapport when meeting new people
  • Must have an ability and flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, store openings and closings, to meet the needs of the business
  • Must be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Dylan’s Candy Bar products
  • Enjoy being part of a team environment
  • Preferably have previous retail and/or customer service experience in the service industry with proven results (1 year minimum)
  • Ability to supervise store sales teams effectively
  • Ability to maintain a fair, consistent set of standards as they apply to workforce
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and follow-through skills
  • Must possess a high threshold for ambiguity and change
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to adapt to ever changing customer volume levels with a sense of urgency
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
