JOB DESCRIPTION

Dylan’s Candy Bar associates love the brand, love our products, and are passionate about bringing those products to life for our customers. Maintenance Associates work as members of the store team to create a positive customer and brand experience. Providing customers an optimal shopping experience is our highest priority. We work as a team, and team members are expected to perform a variety of cross-functional tasks as assigned by the Manager On Duty (MOD) or as needed to ensure overall customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assign tasks to all associates on station and ensure they are completed
  • Day-to-day supervision, staffing and scheduling of the workforce with particular emphasis on sales
  • Train new hires, and issue on the spot training as needed to ensure full potential is reached
  • Communicate any issues in Maintenance to management team
  • Cleaning, sweeping, dusting and facility upkeep throughout the store, storage areas, restrooms and offices
  • Ensure all staff are in correct dress code
  • Communicate any issues to MOD in the absence of maintenance management
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by consistently treating all Dylan’s Candy employees and customers with respect
  • Ensure a team based work environment
  • Manage Maintenance team breaks
  • Perform minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment
  • Maintains store standards and cleanliness to enhance customer shopping experience
  • Perform outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required
  • Participate in general cleaning, painting, and repair work
  • Oversee compliance of all associates with established Company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of Company funds and assets, personnel practices, security, sales and record keeping procedures
  • Build the bench strength within the associate population.
  • Maintain personal department or area of responsibility as laid out by management.
  • Any other duties assigned from time to time

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to take direction
  • Must be friendly, outgoing and confident with an ability to easily build rapport when meeting new people
  • Must be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Dylan’s Candy Bar products
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry objects upwards of 10lbs
  • Enjoy being part of a team environment
  • Understanding and knowledge of safety and sanitation
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines as assigned with minimal supervision
  • Preferably have previous maintenance experience in the service industry with proven results (1 year minimum)
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to adapt to ever changing customer volume levels with a sense of urgency
  • Must have an ability and flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, store openings and closings, to meet the needs of the business
  • Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business
  • Ability to interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Must possess a high threshold for ambiguity and change
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
