We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Finance team in day to day activities.  This role will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support financial operations in vital functions. The Senior Accountant will be accountable for general ledger reconciliations, inventory management, purchasing process, revenue management, and other functions related to financial operations.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analysis
  • Assist management in reconciliation reviews, resolving discrepancies as needed
  • Review company purchasing transactions for accounting accuracy and ensure adherence to policy
  • Assist with companywide payroll reports and serve as a backup on an as-needed basis
  • Maintain the company’s fixed asset records and lease schedules to assist with the preparation of monthly depreciation, amortization, and lease entries
  • Prepare journal entries as required to properly record financial information
  • Manage revenue process to ensure proper revenue recognition under ASC 606 guidance; includes setup and reconciliation of all revenue and deferred revenue reports and journal entries
  • Track and reconcile inventory with our laboratory services team
  • Assist with project setup, opportunity management, and invoicing functions as needed
  • Review projects and work with project owners to ensure proper tracking
  • Verify sales & use tax reporting, assist with monthly and quarterly filings

Additional Functions:

  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as required
  • Work on special projects as requested
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and professional
    associations

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required
  • 4+ years in accounting related roles
  • Netsuite or similar ERP experience a plus
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel using lookups and pivot tables
  • Independence, reliability, and self-accountability
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions
    based on accurate and timely analyses
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
