Abbott Construction's Seattle Office has an opening for a Journeyman level Concrete Finisher. Journeyman level Concrete Finishers are proficient in one or more avenues of self-performed work that Abbott executes and are an integral part in our partnership with AGC's Construction Industry Training Council's (CITC) Apprenticeship program. Journeyman are responsible for assisting in the guidance of Apprentices through our Apprenticeship program by aiding in their development. Journeyman will perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor while working on construction projects.
Primary Duties
- Work with others to complete tasks on a busy jobsite.
- Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
- Perform at the highest level of customer service and safety in alignment with Abbott’s core values.
Qualifications
- Proficient in set up and all aspects of concrete finishing.
- Strong skills in layout and form work.
- 5 years’ experience.
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Must be able to travel to various jobsites throughout the workweek and occasionally the workday.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to work in a team or individually.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
