Site Logistics Coordinator

Classification: Non-Exempt                                                                                      Status: Full-Time

Reports to one of the following: Site Sr. PM, PM, or Division Manager

Job Description:

Summary/Objective

The Site Logistics Coordinator manages purchasing, site logistics and needs, deliveries/receiving, fabrication, material handling, inventory & tool management. The Site Logistics Coordinator will be responsible to manage all material pertaining to various scopes of installations and will schedule on-site deliveries with distributors to ensure that product arrives correctly and in salable condition while meeting installation deadlines. They will manage a team to coordinate internal on-site deliveries and perform many construction project tasks.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain purchase orders via distribution, communication and tracking.
  • Plan, organize and direct the activities related to the material support function.
  • Ensure on-time delivery from vendors and sales orders sent to Foremen.
  • Report delivery accuracy and exceptions from all vendors.
  • Develops plans and assess’ transportation and carting of materials.
  • Manage tool and equipment rentals.
  • Development of electrical material knowledge to the yard support team.
  • Maintain inventory and perform cycle counts.
  • Lead the yard support team and encourage all job site safety requirements.
  • Answer multiple-phone lines.
  • Communicate with vendors, Journeymen, Technicians and Services Managers.
  • Audit old purchase orders.
  • Correct job numbers, phases and purchase orders that are duplicated.
  • Arrange with foremen and vendors to return materials as needed and follow through to make sure credit is received from vendors.
  • Keep necessary records and maintain filing of such records.
  • Work effectively as a member of a team that develops and maintains business unit work relationships.
  • Be able to enhance cooperation and contribute to the achievement of joint objectives.
  • Must have excellent computer skills to include Word and Excel. A high level of proficiency in spreadsheet work is required.

Work Environment

The noise level is moderate, and work generally is in an office setting and possible outside working conditions. Less frequent exposure to high noise levels associated with construction equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full-Time 40 hours; May require more than 40 hours per week depending on project needs and deadline ; Monday through Friday and occasional work on weekends depending on time sensitive deadlines of projects.

Travel

Rare but may require occasional travel to project sites, other business office locations.

Education and Experience

Associates degree in relevant field. Relevant certificate or work experience may substitute for the degree.
