Role Description: As part of a talented team of purpose driven individuals, you will coordinate activities related to growing the UFS customer base. UFS is an organization with a mission of Helping Community Banks and our People Thrive-Together.   You will facilitate that mission by educating community banks on our mission, developing new relationships, challenging the way bankers think about technology, negotiating partnership agreements and expanding the number of community banks that are part of our community.This is a remote position that will focus efforts out of the state of Illinois.  

 

About You: You prioritize the needs of community banks, executing on our guiding principles of servant leadership, integrity, customer focus and empowerment. You have a network of bankers, and enjoy meeting with the senior executive team of community banks. You thrive in an environment where the needs and demands of the role change frequently. You can juggle multiple tasks and projects, and have both creativity and consultative business development skills.  You are able to work remotely, and travel two days per week in order to help community banks thrive. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: Overall accountability for executing on the business development strategies for the assigned products and geographies that align with company’s long term strategy.

The role includes but is not limited to:

  • Identifying, qualifying and securing business opportunities
  • Developing strategies for establishing partnerships and developing business relationships to market products or services
  • Developing and implementing channel marketing strategic plans and goals to meet corporate objectives and increase market share
  • Researching prospective customers through cold calling, traveling, attending conferences, creating campaigns, monitoring banking news and utilizing other public and private tools
  • Managing relationships with various prospects, clients and partners
  • Estimating demand for proposed projects based on market research and industry / customer trends
  • Leading business development or alliance development projects including deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence and other items necessary to the role
  • Providing input on new product or service features to be developed to meet current and future customer needs
  • Researching and learning all new emerging technologies and trends that impact UFS products and how prospects perceive them
  • Developing customized targeted sales strategies
  • Creating informative presentations; Presenting and delivering information to potential clients at client meetings, industry exhibits, trade shows and conferences
  • Responding to client requests for proposals (RFPs)
  • Creating and maintaining a list/database of prospect clients
  • Understanding client needs and offering solutions and support
  • Closing sales and working with client through closing process
  • Collaborating with management on sales goals, planning and forecasting

 

Key Attributes: In addition, a qualified individual will possess the following:

  • Experience in the banking industry with understanding of a banker’s needs
  • Ability to be responsive to (and in some cases creating) disruption and change, while also being systematic in completing the repetitive activities and administrative tasks required of all employees in a small organization

Education & Experience: 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or High School Diploma/general education degree (GED) with equivalent work experience
  • At least 10 years of experience with financial institution data processing customers and industry
