POSITION GOAL

 

This position will coordinate Paces to Quality program activities working with center-based child care programs to assure compliance with Linn County Early Childhood Iowa (LCECI) reporting.  This position will also include coordinating professional development for home and center-based childcare providers and teamwork with other Early Childhood Programs/HACAP staff.

 

SCHEDULE AND WAGE 

Monday-Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm; $21.39

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Paces to Quality Center-based program coordination
  2. Assist the Early Childhood Programs Director with reporting and data collection for P to Q
  3. Communication with the early care and education staff and partner agencies
  4. Communication with the home and center-based early care and education providers
  5. Client file documentation
  6. Coordinate professional development and marketing
  7. Support Paces to Quality activities
  8. Support other Early Childhood Programs programming and activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

 

BA in education, human services or related field and 1-year administrative experience

OR

AA in education, human services or related field and 3 years of administrative experience

OR

An equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

Experience with computer programs, reports, and data collection

Experience conducting individual and large group adult learning experiences.

 

 

Skills and/or Abilities

 

  1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  2. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  3. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations
  4. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  5. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  6. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

 

  1. Receive clearance by the Iowa Department of Human Services on child abuse and criminal checks prior to hire and resubmit every two (2) years
  2. Receive clearance thru National FBI fingerprint checks. Fingerprints must be submitted for national check prior to hire or start date at the center.  Resubmit every four (4) years
  3. Complete Bloodborne Pathogen (Universal Precautions) within ten (10) days of employment and update annually
  4. Complete Child Abuse Mandatory Reporting Training within three (3) months of employment and update every three (3) years
  5. Obtain first aid training within three (3) months of employment and update every two (2) years
  6. Obtain CPR training within three (3) months of employment and update every two (2) years
  7. Complete CCDBG Essentials training within ninety (90) days of employment and update every five (5) years
  8. Valid driver’s license
  9. Valid car insurance
  10. Reliable transportation for on-the-job use
