Legacy Community Health is a premium, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive care to community members regardless of their ability to pay. Our goal is to treat the entire patient while improving their overall wellness and quality of life, in addition to providing free pregnancy tests, HIV/AIDS screening. At Legacy, we empower patients to lead better lives by promoting healthy behaviors and offering resources such as literacy classes, family planning services, and nutrition and weight management information.


Our roots began in 1981 as the Montrose Clinic, with specialization in HIV education, testing, and treatment. Since then, the agency has expanded to 10 clinics in Houston, one in Baytown, two in Beaumont, and one in Deer Park with extensive services that include: Adult primary care, HIV/AIDS care, pediatrics, OB/GYN and maternity, dental, vision and behavioral health. We also service students within KIPP and YES Prep schools. Legacy is committed to driving healthy change in our communities.

Job Description

The Development Manager provides leadership on all fundraising initiatives including special events, major gifts, planned giving, sponsorships, donor cultivation and grant writing. Manage the fundraising activities of the organization with a focus on new opportunities to obtain ongoing and increased support from corporations, public and private organizations, and individuals. 

Essential Duties & Functions

  • Provide the CDO with reports, reminders, events calendar, and meeting minutes, etc.
  • Researching donor prospects and maintaining a donor prospect list ($50.00 – 5,000).
  • Maintaining donor database and executing prompt acknowledgement of donations.
  • Assist Chief Development Officer and Development department staff with grant packets.
  • Provide timely Development reports.
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of fundraising events and community programs, ensuring necessary follow-up after fundraising events.
  • Participates in the Performance Improvement Program
  • Oversee and direct all media relations, social media communication, media production and general branding of the organization and all its programs.
  • Develops young professionals group.
  • Plans and executes the following funding campaigns: Impact-funding, Crowd-funding, and any other Internet funding campaigns.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • 2-5 years of development and fund raising experience.
