Per Diem Position

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Provides a full range of medical care to the underserved population. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

 

Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients.

Performs a complete physical exam and records findings.

Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.

Adhere to organizational quality standards.

Adhere to clinical diagnostic and treatment guidelines.

Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.

Synthesizes data to determine diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.

Sutures minor lacerations.

Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.

Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education.

Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results.

Provides monitoring and continuity of care between visits

Other Duties as assigned

 

Education & Training Requirements:

Medical Doctorate with current licensure in the State of Texas

Board Certification required.

 

Work Experience Requirements:

Previous experience in a community healthcare setting

Must be proficient in EMR systems
