Position:  Child Care Worker
Location:  SA LIGHT - San Antonio, TX

Rate of Pay:  $11.10

Hours:  8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

The Child Care Worker supervises children’s individual and group activities and may instruct children on various child development skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Supports the implementation of parenting goals as identified with the Program, with emphasis on modeling and teaching child development, care and discipline.
  • Supervises children's individual and group activities to stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills such as learning to listen to instructions, playing with others, and using play equipment.
  • Instructs children in practices of personal cleanliness, self-care, caring for own clothing, and picking up and putting away toys and books.
  • Advises Program Coordinator on any noted abuse and neglect, discipline, special needs, and/or emergencies and discusses appropriate action or alternatives.
  • Responsible for residents’ care, in compliance with standards of ethics and confidentiality.
  • Promotes an organizational culture that fosters passion for the mission, cooperation, open and frequent communication, teamwork, and is in alignment with the organizational vision.
  • Attends all required meetings and training.
  • Requires regular attendance and punctuality during the scheduled shift to perform the above essential functions.
  • Performs other duties and special assignments as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Valid Texas Drivers’ License.
