The Procurement Services/SCM Business Analyst will report to Procurement Services Operations Supervisor. This person will also work closely with the Chief Procurement Officer, in addition to the rest of the Procurement Services/Supply Chain Management organization and vendors. This position provides a unique and exciting opportunity for the right person to make significant changes by helping us to transform our strategic sourcing program and digitalize procurement by using a data driven methodology.
Job Description
The Business Analyst is part of Procurement Services/SCM team and will lead the focus on requirements gathering, building, implementing and supporting the company’s strategic initiatives surrounding Procurement data. The Business Analyst will also work as a liaison among stakeholders to analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to current business processes. To that end, the successful candidate will be involved in mapping current-state and future-states and ensuring that both regional and corporate business requirements are met. The Business Analyst will design documents, develop reporting and ensure accuracy of analytics. The position requires the ability to communicate solutions into business language and layperson terms. Additional responsibilities may include documenting workflows, on-going training (internal and external) and identifying future enhancements within various Procurement operational systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Spend considerable time and effort with data collection, cleansing, analyzing and building data solutions.
- Analyze business processes to identify efficiencies and improve accuracy and timeliness of reporting to drive cost reduction.
- Support source-to-pay process improvement and optimization projects.
- Manage KPI’s to measure, control and benchmark procurement processes including creation of recurring metrics reports to drive improvements.
- Develop methods of measuring and defining savings, value and other category metrics.
- Using input from the category team, build the category metrics model to track and monitor performance in relationship to the category strategy
- Measure actual vs planned savings; as savings trends are identified, own action plans to meet goals and develop solutions.
- Lead Procurement performance measurement activities, including the monitoring and reporting on KPIs and benchmarks
- Preparing Program report which contains monthly and YTD metrics and provides cross organizational updates to our client
- Collaborate with project teams to understand processes and develop solutions within the matrixed business structure.
- Support key project implementation activities such as implementation planning; data conversion; training plan development and execution; procedure development; KPI and performance management solution development; user acceptance testing planning and execution.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s in quantitative field (Math, Finance, Business Statistics, Economics), with 5-7 years’ experience, preferably in a procurement/supply management environment.
- Strong experience and analytical capabilities in data collection, cleansing, mapping, mining, and business intelligence using Excel, Access, PowerBI, PeopleSoft 9.2, etc.
- Experience working within a Procurement/Supply Chain organization highly preferred
- Passionate about innovation and directly supporting change within established corporate culture.
- Strong tendency to individually learn and grow.
- Experience working with large data sets.
- Knowledge of data modeling or simulation preferred.
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact with numerous cross-functional business leaders.
- Proven self-starter with a track record of managing multiple complex tasks with the ability to work within a matrix organization.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and an ability to identify problems, design and articulate solutions, and implement.
- Strong attention to detail and desire to learn new technologies (such as SQL, Power Pivot, and more).
- Communicate effectively with diverse levels of the organization and users with various levels of technical expertise.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, organizational and project management skills.
