Job Role
InnovaSystems is looking for a Customer Support Representative located in San Diego, CA for its afloat programs as part of the Navy Readiness Reporting Enterprise (NRRE). The successful candidate will work autonomously but as part of the NRRE Customer Support staff that provides in-depth services and training to users from all Navy Commands (including Ships, Squadrons, Fleet Staffs, TYCOMS) and industry partners to maximize the accuracy and efficiency of readiness reporting for the Navy. Additionally, this position will provide on-board support to Navy ships in port and perform software installations to the ship's system. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of Navy readiness reporting processes, and pertinent governing directives/instructions. Prior experience as a Navy unit SORTS or CASREP coordinator/writer is desirable.
Candidate will provide broad, in-depth technical and training services to USN fleet units and Type/Fleet Command staffs (ashore and afloat) tasked with complying with Navy training/readiness instructions and policies using the DRRS Afloat/IRRI software.
Responsibilities include:
- Issue identification, troubleshooting and resolution, customer communication, user assistance, and formal briefing/training.
- Experience with computer systems/networking and a working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Internet Information Services (IIS).
- Must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable addressing audiences ranging from deck plate personnel to senior officers.
- Formal instructor experience is highly desirable in order to facilitate informal and formal training.
- Candidate must be able to integrate and collaborate effectively in a small team environment in order to achieve team goals.
Must be U.S. citizen, have and maintain a valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and be able to obtain U.S. Passport for travel overseas
Experience Required:
- Firm understanding of Navy readiness reporting processes and pertinent governing directives/instructions.
- Prior experience or knowledge of Navy unit SORTS or CASREP messages are a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office suite.
- Experience working with relational databases.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical users.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, communication and time management skills.
- Candidate must be able to integrate and collaborate effectively in a small team environment in order to achieve team goals.
- A proactive spirit that looks for challenges and attacks them head on.
- Must be willing to occasionally work extended hours or weekends and physically able to navigate passageways and steep ladders aboard naval vessels.
- Travel required (four to five 1-week trips per year).
Experience Desired:
- Formal instructor experience is highly desirable in order to facilitate informal and formal training.
- Prior Navy service in following rates helpful: OS, FC, IT, AZ, ET, CT, AT, AE, AW
- SQL databases or Power Shell
