Position Overview

General Summary: Provides day-to-day technical support for computer software and hardware for internal computer users at Goodwill following appropriate Goodwill policies and procedures. Maintains and monitors all IT equipment to ensure optimal condition and ensure accurate inventory records.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides customer service for troubleshooting information technology issues relating to employees and Goodwill stakeholder computer hardware/software.
  • Installs, upgrades or repairs and configures hardware and software computer systems and mobile devices with limited support for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device).
  • Performs basic LAN wiring and terminations.
  • Serve as backup for Asset Protections for Security Cameras, Door Access Control systems and Door FOBS.
  • Serves as vendor liaison for ISP, POS, Phone, and internet, printer service, infrastructure providers, and accounting/HR applications, and VITA (income Tax support).
  • When required, conducts new employee training relating to computer usage, computer network, and general use of the organization’s computer equipment.
  • Maintains organization’s business equipment, AV equipment, including multiple servers, computers, copy machines, fax machines, printers, and phone systems; Tracks related inventory.
  • Supports audio and video equipment in conference rooms.
  • Administers user, group and e-mail accounts over the network and Office 365.
  • Working with 3rd party outsourced suppliers, monitors nightly back-up of network servers and restores data as requested.
  • Working with the IT Team, develop a system to track IT Service Requests (Helpdesk System).
  • Working with the IT Team, develop and monitor Service Level agreements.
  • Demonstrates a responsive and respectful attitude toward Goodwill customers at all times. This includes Goodwill employees, donors, shoppers, contributors, vendors, visitors as well as persons served.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Starting salary:  $19/hour

 Qualifications for this role include:

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology.
  • Good problem solving skills and a minimum of two years experience in help desk or other IT support position.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory Administration, maintenance and Exchange and/or Microsoft O365 Tool set.
  • Knowledge of current versions of Windows, Symantec Anti Virus and Office Suite software.
  • Access to auto, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Position Scope:

Provides support to over 200 computer users.

  • Requires extensive walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. to reconfigure computers and monitors at user’s workstation.
  • Requires travel to remote Goodwill locations including those not serviced by public transportation.
