Position Summary

The GPS Technician position is a vital role within our organization.  This position works closely with Field Supervision to ensure accuracy and assist in project completion and troubleshooting.  They also play a critical role in project grading designs.  This is an ever-expanding position with great opportunities ahead.  This is a Full-Time/Seasonal position (winters off).

A typical season is about 35 weeks, ending around Thanksgiving.  Unemployment is available during layoffs.  Benefits are available and are carried through layoff as well.

Job Duties

• Work directly with Superintendents, Estimators and Foreman on project design and troubleshooting
• Convert 2D drawing and site surveys into 3D models
• Prepare machine control files to be used by equipment for automated project creation
• Understand project scopes and verify each phase of them (subgrade, surveying, curb)
• Perform site analysis to create the most economical design for the customer
• Occasionally survey projects for curb and grade verification
• Mentor fellow employees on GPS and rover technology

Preferred Education/ Experience:

• Civil Engineering or Civil Technician Degree with emphasis on Surveying or AutoCad

All candidates are required to pass a thorough Background Check, Physical and Drug Test.  References will also be checked.
