LeJeune Steel Company, an industry leading structural steel fabricator, employs an innovative team approach to successfully execute a wide array of projects in three fabrication facilities. The Production Planner is responsible for programming and planning the day-to-day use of materials, while coordinating schedule requirements with Shop Leadership and material needs with Procurement Team.

Responsibilities/Tasks of role:

  • Generate cut sheets of structural steel files utilizing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software
  • Post cut sheets to electronic distribution tool and release to shop floor as appropriate
  • Coordinate with Shop Leadership to ensure adequate back log of cut sheets to meet production schedule
  • Determine raw material purchasing needs with consideration for maximizing stock usage and efficiency of material utilization
  • Plan and coordinate cutting responsibilities with outside shops as needed
  • Reconcile completed cuttings with MRP stock file timely and accurately
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Qualifications:

  • General computer skills required
  • Basic understanding of purchasing and materials management
  • Ability to identify potential issues and meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate in a team environment
  • Ability to use analytical skills and easily adapt to change
  • Basic understanding of MRP systems preferred
  • Experience with Structural Steel preferred
  • Blueprint reading experience preferred
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen test and background check
