The Role

The Concrete Plant Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of a ready mixed facility and its respective staff. The incumbent will monitor daily production, quality control, maintenance, safety, and personnel associated with the facility. This role supervises direct reports’ work assignments and the performance management appraisal process. This job requires the employee to be on call at all times to ensure issues are addressed in a rapid and error free manner. The individual must be available to work any schedule and have the ability to resolve any unscheduled maintenance issues. Early starts and late evenings are common, especially during peak season. The incumbent must practice absolute confidentiality. Good judgment and common sense is required in all duties and any other tasks as assigned and directed by Manager Concrete Operations and Manager Concrete Production. Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) may be required. 

Education and/or Experience

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with one (1) to three (3) years experience is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Current North Carolina Driver’s License required
  • Class B CDL preferred, with air brake endorsement
  • Ability to obtain NCDOT Field Technician certification
  • Ability to obtain NCDOT Batch Technician certification
  • Ability to obtain NC Weighmaster license
