Company Introduction: ASCO, a privately owned and independent Belgian company, began operations as a private subcontractor in 1954. The aeronautics division started in 1979 and is currently the only group activity. Today ASCO Industries is engaged in a broad range of development, engineering, manufacturing and assembly activities providing multidisciplinary subcontracting services to various markets and aerospace programs around the world.

Position Summary

Purpose of the Job This position is responsible for Quality support of the various facility departments in the development and implementation of AS9100 procedures, First Article Inspection and audit systems to meet regulatory requirements for product and processes. Performs quality engineering assignments, utilizing problem solving, process improvements, auditing, and quality principles and techniques. Coordinates and implements continuous improvement methods and processes, that support product quality, cost, delivery goals and objectives.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Review of documentation to ensure it contains the necessary quality assurance, customer provisions and criteria to meet AS9100 and Nadcap standards.
  2. Responsible to act as the liaison with customer quality personnel and/or certifying bodies to manage First Article Inspections, Physical and Functional Configuration audits of final product and all other customer quality related requests.
  3. Serve as an issue resolution focal point that works with engineering, quality and operations to drive continuous improvement in products and processes to meet the requirements for internal and external auditing
  4. Determine and communicate audit results trends, investigate root causes, determine possible solutions, and implement and track corrective actions
  5. Responsible to implement and maintain quality system requirements, perform audits and drive corrective actions
  6. Review new and/or revised internal standard processes and special process documents
  7. Assist the Quality Manager, as needed, with various audits and compliance projects
  8. Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required

Required Education:

Education:  4-yr bachelor’s degree or relevant industry experience, preferred.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience required, preferably in aerospace.
  • Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001, required
  • Experience with operator self-verification programs, preferred
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards, preferred
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis tools and/or equivalent quality training.
  • Ability to process and communicate information using Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to lead teams or projects achieving desired results on schedule
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills in English required
  • Prior experience as an auditor, preferred.
  • Previous experience with special processes preferred
  • Must be detail oriented and possess technical manufacturing capabilities/knowledge
  • Must be currently eligible/authorized to work in the United States.
