Position Summary

The Grading Foreman position is a vital role within our organization.  This position prospect, prepare accurate cost estimates, and manage profitable work consistent with company’s risk tolerance and objectives.  They work collaboratively with other estimators, staff, field supervisors and employees to ensure proper coordination and performance.  This position must be proactive in company’s marketing and customer retention as well.

A typical season is about 35-40 weeks, ending around Thanksgiving.  Unemployment is available during layoffs.  Benefits are available and are carried through layoff as well. 

Our main office is located in Mendota Heights and jobs are located all over the Twin Cities metro area. 

Job Duties

  • Attend weekly scheduling meetings/schedule jobs.
  • Schedule subcontractors, materials, trucks and equipment.
  • Set elevations for grading and paving.
  • Measure and report quantities on daily field log.
  • Ensure Gopher One calls are done in advance of work.
  • Ensure safety of crew and the public (tool box talks).
  • Attend pre-con meetings and take notes.
  • Inform employees of days’ work and expectations.
  • Manage daily cleanup of job.
  • Mentor and train in employees.

  • Logistics and scheduling
  • Safety awareness (MMUTCD, OSHA understanding)

Other Requirements:

All candidates are required to pass a thorough Background Check, Physical and Drug Test.  References will also be checked.
