Position: Federal Case Manager
Location: Hutchins, Texas
Rate of Pay: $37,000 Annually
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
The Federal Case Manager position is available in the Community Re-Entry program of VOATX that provides a network of support to recently incarcerated individuals. VOATX seeks to break the cycle of incarceration by helping individuals build life skills that will support them through the process of re-entering the community. This position is responsible for the provision of case management services to Federal clients of the Community Corrections Center
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Coordinates intake and orientation of new clients within established time frames.
- Establishes and revises the Individual Goals and Objectives/ Treatment plan with the families, other agencies and community resources as appropriate.
- Counsels clients on personal, family, financial, employment, behavioral, and crisis matters.
- Documents services regularly, as prescribed by contract and maintains complete and current case files and records.
- Advises Facility Director on discipline, special needs, and emergencies; recommends appropriate action or alternatives.
- Coordinates the release of clients from program either back into the community or to an institution as appropriate.
- Conducts Living Skills and group counseling sessions as directed; utilizes authorized curriculum during group sessions.
- Monitors and notifies staff of potential psychological crisis with individual clients that may affect the operation of the program or the facility.
- Attends required meetings and training as directed.
- Assumes On-Call Supervisor responsibilities as directed.
- Serves as VOA representative with sponsoring agencies, institutions, and community resources on an as needed basis.
- Prepares release paperwork on all clients within the specific time frames.
- Reviews all passes and coordinates them with the Facility Director and sponsoring agency as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in a human services field, preferably with two years transferable case management experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have valid Texas Driver License
- Case management experience preferred
