Organization Mascot (Radley Rex) 

As our Organization Mascot (Radley Rex) you will provide entertainment as our mascot at weekend programming activities, special events and outside community appearances. Assist in visitor engagement in the Washington Pavilion museum spaces--the Kirby Science Discover Center and Visual Arts Center, to provide a positive visitor experience.  During appearances, meet and greet museum patrons, visitors and fans, work closely with the museum staff, and take pictures with patrons to enhance all-around visitor experience.  Opportunities for hours include approx 2 hrs on Saturday mornings, One Friday a Month, and additional hours for other special events as scheduled. Most appearances are on weekends. Holidays also included. No more than 6 hours/week.  Starting wage is $15.00/hour! 

What you will do!

• Have and enthusiastic and high energy at all times to keep the entertainment level high.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends
• Develop, create and execute skits to be performed during meet and greets to enhance the museum experience for all visiting patrons and members
• Preserve the identity of the mascot without deviating from established character including: body language/mannerisms, attitude, fan interaction, and organizational representation.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Administer costume maintenance as well as props on a daily basis.

What you need - qualifications!

• Flexible work schedule; must be available some nights and weekends.
• Must be in a good physical shape and able to life 50+ pounds.
• Dance experience preferred.
• Available for up to 10 hours per month
• Previous experience as a mascot preferred.

Interested applicants MUST register for an audition time and submit a resume to be considered. Auditions may include improvisation, dancing, and interview questions. A professional resume with references is required.
