Arcoro is looking to add an Engineering Manager who enjoys solving complex problems with a talented group of peers.  As a leader within the development team, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring development staff.  You will guide team members through the development projects, ensuring a quality product built efficiently.  You will employ your technical knowledge combined with the desire for continuous improvement.  Apply your skills and affect your teams and the Arcoro process.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the careers of 1 large or 2 medium sized teams
    • Provide opportunities to grow team members skills
    • Create measurable objectives
    • Support team members through communications, organizational or professional obstacles
    • Recruit and assess talented Development Team members to join our team
  • Manage team projects
    • Guide team through the Scrum development lifecycle
    • Remove impediments
    • Assist in making architectural and technical decisions
    • Track and report on the projects progress
    • Oversee the code review process to ensure quality in the deliverables
  • Report to the Director of Engineering, and partner with the Director of Architecture, the Director of Quality Assurance, and our Agile Delivery Manager to ensure our projects are meeting the technical, quality and process standards
  • Represent the team to other engineering disciplines as well as product management, customer support, and implementations.
  • Be plugged in to the technical community keeping abreast of the latest practices and technologies

Qualifications

  • Management Abilities:
    • Working knowledge of software development life cycle methodology, preferably within an Scrum environment 
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
    • Ability to partner and work across teams and levels within the organization
    • Ability to context shift among several projects and responsibilities throughout the day
  • Technical Abilities:
    • Proficient with Microsoft .Net C#, SQL Server and other Microsoft technologies
    • Strong knowledge of general algorithms, design patterns and good coding practices
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure
    • Knowledge of Entity Framework or similar ORM tools  
    • Knowledge of client server and web development 
    • Knowledge of Angular or similar modern Javascript frameworks
  • 8+ years of Software Engineering Experience 
  • 3+ years of experiences an Engineering Manager
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred
