Wharton-Smith, Inc. Construction Group, a highly regarded General Contractor based in Central Florida, is looking for a Training Coordinator to work in the Training Department at our Corporate (Sanford, FL) Office. The Training Coordinator’s primary responsibilities will involve the design and development of learning experiences and training solutions to improve the skills and knowledge of both field and office staff.
Responsibilities:
- Collects and visually documents information pertaining to policies and procedures, workflow, and minimum requirements – helps to define target audience and learning outcomes.
- Utilize Face-to-Face and Virtual platforms to interview Subject Matter Experts (SME), helping to define critical skill and behavior change outcomes.
- Use Camtasia or Articulate to capture screencast training or develop animated custom training. Basic understanding of Audio/Visual equipment.
- Publishes video training content to various online platforms.
- Facilitate both in-person and virtual sessions, as requested. Coach SMEs on instructional techniques to improve overall presentation skills.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of instructional design learning models and principles when developing materials for both classroom (ILT) and web-based (OLT) delivery.
- Develops technical job aids, facilitator guides, participant guides, and other training documentation. Strong technical writing skills preferred.
- Organize training material to allow for simple identification, management, and versioning. Maintain training documents in the correct format and branding.
- Measure training class participation and quality against Kirkpatrick Level 1 criteria. Seek opportunities to improve the user experience.
- Tracks and Reports training outcomes. Discusses trends and makes recommendations.
- Demonstrates how the learning solution impacts progress toward Strategic Goals (Kirkpatrick Levels 2-4).
Education:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience:
- 2+ years designing and implementing materials for training (technical training a plus).
- Working Knowledge of best-practice training development tools and instructional techniques.
- Proficient with Authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Camtasia, or Adobe Suite.
- Familiarity with various Learning Management System (LMS) constraints and capabilities.
- Preferred: Training development for Construction or Engineering competencies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Absorb and retain information quickly, specifically complex technical information.
- Excellent communication skills: technical writing proficiency, leadership language, and creative training ability.
- Basic graphic design knowledge.
- Training best practice and applied adult learning theory.
- Data analysis and visualization.
