We are looking to fill a Field Engineer position within our industrial construction department. This role will provide assistance with all facets of projects in varying stages of the construction process. The ideal candidate has experience in estimating, productivity reporting, preparing bid packages, equipment and material processing, completing paperwork and customer submittals and other day-to-day functions.

This is a full-time, temporary position expected to last until October 2020. Expected work hours are 50/week.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum two years of professional experience in construction. Experience in industrial setting preferred.
  • Technical aptitude and advanced computer skills including MS Office (excel, word, power point)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively represent the company in an ethical and professional manner and consistent with our values and mission.
  • Valid State Driver’s license, and able to travel to project sites.

  • Be knowledge of and aggressively adhere to required safety standards and requirements of the company and our customers.
  • Provide assistance to project managers and field leaders during all project phases.
  • Understand agreements and work scope.
  • Responsible for coordination of schedules, submittals, material lists, as built drawings and other paperwork as required (PO’s, submittals, etc.).
  • Work with field, other trades, and customers collaboratively. Provide support to in the installation and execution of contracts.
  • Assist in compiling cost estimates and proposal preparation as necessary.
  • Material ordering and verification.
  • Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to schedule/coordinate projects to meet expressed deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment. Attend and participate in team coordination meetings.
  • Willingness to keep current with continuing education as necessary.
  • Actively participate in programs and initiatives designed to enhance the overall good of the company, including sister company support as needed.

  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in plant and/or customer environments. PPE required when in the plant, yard, customer, or construction areas include:
    • Hard Hat
    • Safety Glasses / Goggles
    • Steel-toed Boots
    • High Visibility Vest
    • Hearing Protection (designated areas)
    • Gloves
    • Personal Fall Arrest Harness
