Role:

Oversees Real Estate Department staff in the processing, underwriting and servicing of all real estate loans. Provides coaching and development to assigned department staff.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensures active and on-going coaching and development to assigned department staff, writes and conducts performance appraisals and identifies training needs.
  • Oversees all activities related to interviewing applicants, underwriting, approving, closing and servicing real estate loans.
  • Manages loan applications and files to ensure required dates are met.
  • Analyzes loan data reports for any corrective action. Maintains loan accounts including delinquency control, and reporting to regulatory agencies as required; calls on delinquent members as needed. Works with attorneys concerning real estate issues.
  • Performs monthly audits of closed real estate loan files for accuracy.
  • Coordinates real estate loan training and education for employees, particularly with respect to new rules and regulations.
  • Oversees assigned staff as it relates to real estate activities; maintains communication and coordinates activities with other departments.
  • Produces accurate monthly and quarterly real estate reports.
  • Ensures timely and accurate payment of all property taxes and homeowners insurance on all real estate loans held by BVSCU.
  • Maintains the production of and ensures accuracy of all year-end statements such as tax and insurance statements and Form 1098.
  • Maintains status of insurance on real estate loans.
  • Manages vendor-risk processes and procedures.
  • Coordinates with IT Department staff regarding maintenance and updates to the real estate loan origination system.
  • Oversees collection department; trains and directs assigned staff. Interviews, recommends new hires, promotions, transfers and salary adjustments.
  • Reviews and approves time off requests.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum three years of real estate lending experience to include two years of leadership experience.
  • An associate’s degree preferred or completion of specialized real estate training preferred.
  • Ability to analyze data for equitable resolutions.
  • Ability to manage projects through to completion.
  • Proficient with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work regular full time hours.
  • Ability to work on-site at designated location.
  • Ability to communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy and model exemplary member service.
  • Excellent inter-personal and analytical skills.      
  • Familiarity with real estate/mortgage software applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.

Ergonomic Considerations:

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time (6 to 7 hours per day).
  • Must be able to view a computer screen, use a keyboard to enter information, and manipulate a mouse.
  • Job includes some repetitive hand/wrist motions.
  • Ability to operate office machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
