General Foreman

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Places orders, receives and distributes materials to specified sections for future work.
  • Recommends repairs, supervises the maintenance of tools and equipment and determines work procedures.
  • Plans the hiring of contract equipment and operators in order to insure proper utilization.
  • Interprets, implements, enforces regulatory requirements related to safety, environmental and industry standards.
  • Interprets plans, blueprints and sketches of proposed structures in terms of the relevant specifications
  • Prepares reports on project time, equipment, materials and progress including project cost and balances.
  • Reviews the work of skilled trade’s workers and equipment operators.                                           
  • Maintains a constant drive to achieve production outputs in order to meet targets.
  • General management of the resources.
  • Making on-the-spot decisions.
  • Interaction at various levels to ensure job requirements is met.

  • Construction industry experience is required
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record; in accordance to Company Policy
  • Willing to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test

 Formal Education and Experience Required:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); 2-3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Lifting Requirements:

Up to 50 pounds.

Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions:

While performing the responsibilities of this job, the work environment is primarily construction-site based and may involve traveling between various geographic locations or projects.  Employee will be required to wear personal protective clothing including but not limited to ear protection, eye protection, hard hat, gloves, and reflective gear.  The employee will frequently be on active construction sites involving heavy machinery, cranes, and other vehicles.

 Work will involve occasional to frequent exposure to high places, confined spaces, noise, and weather elements.

Constructions site visits may require: Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, High Visibility Vest, Etc.

Valid state issued driver’s license and a safe driving record required to operate company vehicle
