Mtech-Icon has been serving the central Texas business community for over 25 years. The company designs, installs and services commercial and industrial facilities. Mtech-Icon is part of the Comfort Systems USA family of mechanical contractors. Mtech-Icon has a position open for Plumbing Foreman. Plumbing Foreman is the person most responsible for success of plumbing work projects, providing leadership, supervision, direction, and support to assigned employees, producing successful, quality project completion with a safe, timely and profitable outcome.  Job sites are often in remote locations, so Foremen must have personal experience, skill and initiative to do their daily work plus the awareness to anticipate future issues impacting their projects.  Plumbing Foreman are leaders first, building positive interactions across their team, as well as with customers, contractors, vendors and internal project management.  Foremen must be able to lead employees by example, often in harsh weather, for extended periods of time.  It is physically and mentally demanding but can be the most rewarding job in the Company for those with the skill and temperament to do it.

 JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:

  • Must be able to determine time, material and people needed for the assembly and installation of commercial/industrial plumbing, pipe fittings and fixtures of gas and water and associated drainage systems.
  • Experienced at developing a team to produce the highest standards of work quality, productivity, and safety on all projects.
  • Have knowledge of blueprints, drawings and building codes and specifications to plan work details and procedures.
  • Able to perform complex calculations, measurements and planning for commercial scale work.
  • Social skills to work with a team of Project Managers, Operations Managers, General Contractors to address issues impacting the assigned project.
  • Experienced scheduling work in sequence and within deadline time limits.
  • Able to handle staffing issues, delays, bad weather, or unexpected situations.
  • Use technology tools to complete daily reports, time cards and scheduling updates.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Journeyman Plumber with 5 years minimum of experience as a plumbing foreman
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Able to perform work accurately and thoroughly, including under stressful situations
  • Able to demonstrate conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards
  • Able to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem.
  • Able to stand & walk, reach outward constantly, frequently lift/carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to exercise fine motor control and possess excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Frequent work at heights on ladders, lifts and multi-story structures, reaching above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending.
  • Demonstrated dependability and trustworthiness.
