Abbott Construction is seeking a Project Manager with a minimum of three to five years of experience in alternative forms of public delivery, specifically General Contractor / Construction Manager (GC/CM), preferably in the School Bond and Healthcare market sectors.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the requirements of the GC/CM form of procurement from RFP analysis and strategy, through pre-construction planning, to MACC formation and contract execution.

Primary Duties

  • Analyze RFP details and provide strategic approach.
  • Lead interview teams and response requirements if shortlisted.
  • Coordinate with team members to formulate compliant & financially responsible response documentation.
  • Responsible for pre-construction duties including budgeting, constructability reviews, supply chain bid management and MACC agreement.
  • Responsible for client expectations and goals, contract deliverables, financial oversight, co-management and review of project schedule.
  • Provide a customer experience that reflects Abbott’s core values and brand pillars.
  • Train and mentor team members and employees.
  • Engage in business development activities to support and foster both existing and new relationships while continuing to seek new opportunities.
  • Manage workload of project engineers.
  • Maintain a high level of safety throughout all projects.
  • Work with the Superintendent to enhance project margins.
  • Make sure that projects are completed on or before the contract completion date.
  • Ensure that projects are built in accordance with the plans and specs approved by the owner and the architect/engineers/managers.
  • Ensure that all accounts receivable are current and projects are billed accordingly.
  • Provide job cost/margin forecasts.
  • Manage maintenance of RFI, COP and submittal logs.
  • Close out project cleanly and completely within 30 days of project completion.
  • Provide all pertinent information to the construction team.

Required Skills

  • Strong negotiation and leadership skills
  • Understand accounting, financial statements, job cost, and cash flow
  • Experience in creating MS Project schedules
  • Experience in the School Bond and Healthcare market sectors preferred 

Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a drug test and comply with our company vehicle safety program
  • 4 year degree in a construction related major
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ project management experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in General Contractor / Construction Manager (GC/CM) delivery
