JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Functions

  • Executing specific demolition tasks as instructed
  • Cleaning and preparing project sites
  • Work off ladders, lifts or scaffolding and with mechanical equipment as needed
  • Normal working hours 7am 3:30 pm; potential to work nights/weekends
  • Operate hand tools, power tools
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Focused on SAFETY at all times
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organized, hardworking and motivated
  • Strong team player with positive attitude

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position is NOT responsible for a team

 

POSITION TYPE

This is an hourly nonexempt position. 

 

TRAVEL

Travel primarily within, but NOT limited to, New England job site locations

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 year construction or demolition experience required
  • Experience with construction hand tools required
  • Experience working outside during all seasons and in all-weather required
  • Able to be at job site on time; job sites are generally located within 2 hours of headquarters
  • Passing of pre-employment post-offer physical
  • Ability to pick up construction debris and able to lift 50 lbs. regularly is required
  • OSHA 10 or higher construction training preferred

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Hand and Foot Coordination: You need to be able to coordinate movements of your hands and feet in order to clean up job sites.
  • Coordination: On busy construction sites, you must be able to coordinate your actions with those of other workers.
  • Attendance:  you must be able to complete work projects on time and in an effective manner; regular and prompt attendance are an essential job function
  • Working Conditions:  ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, dust, rain, pollution and toxic atmospheres
  • PPE:  Ability to wear required PPE, including respirator, and participate in OSHA-required medical surveillance programs as necessary
  • Lifting:    Able to pick up construction debris and able to lift 50 lbs. regularly
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and talk or hear. 
  • Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs and ladders.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell.
  • Vision:    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
