Primary Duties

  • Support and engage the culture of Abbott in alignment with core values and mission statement.
  • Manage the entire recruiting cycle from requisition creation through candidate generation and engagement, interviewing, offer letter and onboarding.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action laws.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director in the development, implementation, and communication of policies, procedures, programs, and activities to increase productivity and employee satisfaction.
  • Design, evaluate and implement new training and professional development programs.
  • Prepare and deliver compliance-related training and communications to employees.
  • Perform searches for qualified candidates using sources such as candidate databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, social media advertisements, job fairs, recruiting firms, and employee referrals.
  • Interview job applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, or job skills.
  • Select qualified job applicants and refer them to managers, making hiring recommendations when appropriate.
  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders keeping them regularly informed and appropriately involved.
  • Provide management with information and training related to interviewing, performance appraisals, counseling techniques, and documentation of performance issues.
  • Coach employees on how to best utilize career development tools and take ownership of their job performance.
  • Analyze employment-related data and prepare required reports.
  • Lead the development, implementation and evolution of the organizational strategy in areas such as performance management and talent acquisition.
  • Work closely with management on all diversity initiatives involving recruitment to ensure fairness in hiring practices.
  • Create and update job descriptions as company roles change.
  • Plan and lead summer internship program, including orientation, experience for all participants (interns, managers, mentors), feedback and off-boarding.
  • Cultivate relationships and organize events with targeted schools and organizations.
  • Know the university space keeping up to date on trends and modifying hiring strategies as appropriate.
  • Represent the company in community activities and promote a positive company representation.
  • Manage the creation of yearly Affirmative Action Plan (AAP).

Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
  • Experience managing a team
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of human resources and ability to jump in as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business or Human Resources
  • 3 years’ experience in multiple human resource management areas such as: diversity and inclusion, leading major change initiatives, training, recruitment, employee relations, and performance management
