Operations Manager

Position will be responsible for managing the indirect inspection work of various crews from start to finish. The position works across multiple projects and teams to ensure on-time and on-budget.  Also, will have the responsibility for maintaining Company, client and government safety regulation.

What Do You Offer Us? 

  • Oversee the preparation of cost estimates, material/equipment requisitions, work orders, and budgets related to indirect inspection projects
  • Communicate regularly with customers, internal Mears resources, and management on discrepancies
  • Review data and reports from the field and consolidate information into reports for management; conduct regular status reports to management and customers. Review and approve final reports prepared by the data processing team
  • Review and approve time and expenses for field crew personnel
  • Oversee compliance with regulations through monitoring performance and reports. Take corrective actions as needed to ensure safety of customers, employees and the public
  • Ensure staff is trained and up to date on regulations, industry standards and assessment methods, and ensure that they are incorporated in project plans
  • Implement Company safety policies and processes; ensure employees are trained and in compliance
  • Develop and coach employees’ performance throughout the year to facilitate achievement of goals
  • Prepare and conduct annual performance reviews with employees to ensure they understand their level of achievement on the established goals
  • Review and make recommendations regarding hourly and salary increases for field personnel, performance evaluations and promotions, and approve as appropriate
  • Develop and provide all necessary ISO documentation for the projects under their responsibility
  • Other duties as required

What is Required? 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred 3 to 5 years of management experience in pipeline operations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Maintain knowledge of new regulations, industry trends and technologies
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time

This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
