Job Title: Bovine Reproductive Technician (AI & Rectal Palpations)

Supervisor: Director of Female Reproductive Services  

Location: Navasota, Texas

 

STgenetics is looking for a team oriented, motivated, accountable individual to join our Embryo Transfer / In-Vitro Fertilization facility. This role will directly perform artificial inseminations (AI) and Rectal Palpations on our herd (employer willing to train the right individual if skill is not proficient). Remaining time will be spent assisting fellow cattle production team members with animal care operation. Training and continued education will be given to all hires.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Perform Bovine Artificial Inseminations on the STgenetics Navasota Herd
  • Perform Bovine Rectal Palpations (Hand & Ultrasound) on the STgenetics Navasota Herd
  • Assist the Embryo Transfer, In-Vivo Flushing, OPU (OvumPick-up) team in their reproductive tasks, as necessary.
  • Assist the Cattle Handler team in moving and helping the cattle as necessary
  • Care for the STgenetics Navasota Herd as necessary

Job Requirements / Education

  • Bovine AI or Palpation Clinic experience is a plus
  • Associates degree or bachelor’s degree in animal science is a plus
  • Experience with cattle reproduction is required.
  • Experience with Bovine artificial inseminations
  • Experience with Bovine Rectal Palpations
  • Ability to work well in a team atmosphere
  • Provide excellent animal care and husbandry
  • Own results and be willing to learn/change
