We are currently seeking a Tax Staff Accountant. In this role, you will assist the tax department and our subsidiaries with a variety of tax and accounting items.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To include, but not limited to the following:
- Preparation and management of tax return filings including estimated payments, extensions, certified mailings and signature coordination and tracking
- Preparation of tax workpapers and returns
- Assist senior tax accountant with state tax notice management including resolving issues and discussions with state tax authorities
- Assist with tax research
- Assist in federal and state tax audits
- Assist with business registrations and state tax account matters
- Assist in legal entity compliance requirements with vendor, CT Corporation

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in accounting;
Computer Skills
Must have intimate knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs, and have the ability to perform high-level function in them. Able to learn to use the current in-house accounting system and other software such as: WebApps, Microsoft Dynamics AX, COINS, OneStream, and Sage Depreciation
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
