Position Summary

As a result of our continued growth, we are currently seeking candidates for the newly created position of Junior Estimator, located in the Platteville, Colorado Branch. The Junior Estimator responsibilities include working closely with our Estimators to prepare detailed and accurate estimates. You will perform various estimating tasks, like take-offs, proposal clarification writing, along with administrative duties, like maintaining estimate RFI documentation and proposal number requisitions. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with several different internal regional teams to deliver results on deadlines. 

Ultimately, the Junior Estimator’s duties are to ensure that our estimators are supported in what they need to provide for internal teams and external clients, by learning and contributing.

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Assist Estimators in performing estimate take-offs.

Learn best work practices and procedures and assist in developing project execution strategy

Liaise with regional estimators to help assist in getting estimates completed accurately and on time

Help prepare and update estimate RFI logs and ZOHO (CRM Program).

Prepare or communicate material take offs and specifications

Help operations team to create budgets for change orders when required

Communicate specifications and base scope quantities to project team.

Continued education in all parts of Classic’s trades and processes.

Continued education with the MIKE System and Scaff Designer.

 

Qualifications/Skills

Strong verbal & written communication skills

Experience with the industrial construction is preferred

Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, specifically MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel

Candidate must be able to meet all company and customer qualification to access job site including training requirements

 

Formal Education and Experience Required:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); with 1-2 years of construction experience. College degree in Drafting or Construction Management is preferred. 

 

Lifting Requirements: Up to 50 lbs.

Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions:

This position is primarily office based and most work is done in an office environment. Occasionally this position may require site visits to active construction sites. On a construction site, the employee may be required to climb ladders and walk in areas under construction. While on construction sites, the employee must wear proper protective equipment such as hard hat, eye and hearing protection, high visibility vest, etc. The employee must be familiar with all company safety equipment and is required to follow company safety procedures, prior to entering the construction site
