POSITION GOAL
This position is responsible for oversight of the Home Delivered Meal Program for Seniors based out of Belle Plaine, Iowa. Responsibilities include receiving meals, packing meals according to route assignment, greeting volunteer drivers, managing volunteer schedules, delivering meals in personal or company vehicle, recruiting volunteers, maintaining records and submitting reports, and performing other job-related tasks as appropriate.
SCHEDULE AND WAGE: 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. $20.00 per hour.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for ordering, receiving, and packaging home-delivered meals.
- Assists with training, and monitoring volunteer delivery drivers.
- Loads and delivers meals to participants in an assigned geographic area daily in a timely and safe manner.
- Provides regular social contact with participants during delivery.
- Reports any client-related problems of emergency nature to Supervisor immediately.
- Updates directions for client delivery by the route.
- Takes food temperatures or monitor those who take food temperatures as required and maintain temperature control charts.
- Ensures that coolers are cleaned up and stored appropriately at the end of each day.
- Practices safe operating procedures and observes all safety regulations and precautions.
- Operates vehicle in a safe and lawful manner. Provides a safe work environment by communicating problems and suggestions for safe operation.
- Maintains records and information, submits daily communication forms, and prepares accurate and timely reports related to meal delivery, volunteer hours and if required, vehicle maintenance.
- Attends staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Assists in serving meals, greeting participants, pre and post kitchen clean-up.
- Communicate with volunteers and provides guidance on the daily site process.
- Performs other duties and assignments as requested.
