After 22 years with our company, our Flight Department Manager/Chief Pilot is retiring, and we are looking for a talented pilot and exceptional person to take on this role.   This position reports directly to the President of the company and will have one pilot as a direct report, while acting as the Chief Pilot (60-65%) and Department Manager (30-35%).  The company owners and management are well-seasoned aircraft owners, as they have always operated aircraft for the travel needs of the business and owners. Operating Rules: Part 91

Responsibilities:

Oversight of all aircraft operations to ensure safety of all passengers and crew is the most important aspect of this job. Knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures and prior experience managing aircraft under an approved manufacturers maintenance program a must. Must be self-directed and possess good people skills.

-  Manage company aircraft currently consisting of a Citation XLS+, and a De Havilland Mark III Turbine Beaver amphibious floatplane.

-  Supervise and schedule all aircraft maintenance to include scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance.

-  Manage flight schedule including assignment of pilot and command and second in command responsibilities for each flight.

-  Conduct or schedule required initial and/or recurrent proficiency training for all approved company pilots.

-  Negotiate insurance renewal annually.

-  Act as FAA point of contact/manager for company Operating Specifications.

-  Keep accurate records and coordinate with Accounting Dept. for required tax reporting.

-  Review and code all Flight Department invoices and communicate with Accounts Payable Dept. to ensure prompt payment.

 

Licenses, certificates, education required;

  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate          
  • First Class Medical
  • 2 year Associate degree
  • Citation XLS type rating preferred but not required
  • Seaplane rating preferred but not required
  • Active Certified Flight Instructor preferred but not required

 

Minimum Flight Experience;

  • Total Time:   
    • 5,000 Hrs PIC
  • Multi engine:      
    • 2,500 Hours
  • Turbine:          
    • 1,500 Hours
  • Turbo jet:
    • 1,000 Hours PIC
  • No accidents
  • No violations
